Eric Sogard
33-Year-Old Second Baseman2B
Milwaukee Brewers
2020 Fantasy Outlook
Sogard inked a MiLB deal with the Blue Jays last winter and enjoyed a nice bounce-back season after struggling across 55 games with the Brewers in 2018. He was promoted to Toronto in mid-April and spent the next three-plus months as the team's primary leadoff man before being sent to Tampa Bay at the deadline. Sogard occupied the large side of a platoon for the Rays, though he missed a chunk of September due to a foot injury. He wound up setting career highs in most offensive categories. However, his batted-ball profile suggests his uptick in power -- he had just 11 career home runs prior to 2019 -- can be largely attributed to the juiced ball. He chipped in eight steals without getting caught and could end up leading off for the Brewers against RHP after signing a one-year, $4.5 million deal. At press time, Milwaukee's most likely configuration would seem to be a Sogard/Ryon Healy platoon at third base. Read Past Outlooks
