Yahoo DFS Basketball: Monday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Monday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

Monday marks the beginning of the final week of the NBA regular season. There are five games on the schedule, all of which make up the main slate on Yahoo. Here are some players to consider for your entry, as well as a few to possibly avoid.

GUARDS

Devin Booker, PHO vs. OKC ($37): The Suns have been one of the surprise teams in the bubble, winning all five of their games. Booker has been right at the heart of their improved play, scoring at least 35.6 Yahoo points in each contest. Combine his 28.9 percent usage rate with his averages of 4.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists and he provides a high floor whenever he steps onto the floor. Even against a good defensive team like the Thunder, Booker is still someone to consider for your lineup.

Trey Burke, DAL at UTA ($10): It's going to be slim pickings for the Mavericks with Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis set to rest and Dorian Finney-Smith (hip) injured. Doncic and Porzingis are at the center of the Mavericks' offense, so there are going to be a lot of shot attempts up for grabs. Burke has already scored at least 20.8 Yahoo points in both of the last two games, so he could provide excellent value with the likelihood that he receives more scoring opportunities Monday.

Guard to Avoid

Eric Bledsoe, MIL vs. TOR ($20): The good news with Bledsoe is that he logged 31 minutes against the Mavericks on Saturday, so he looks to be clear of any minute restrictions moving forward. The bad news is that he only scored 25 Yahoo points in that contest. He has the ability to go off on any given night, but with so many other weapons around him, his production isn't always consistent. There are a lot of other viable options for this slate, so avoiding Bledsoe might not be a bad idea.

FORWARDS

Michael Porter Jr., DEN at LAL ($28): Injuries to the Nuggets have given Porter an expanded role within the bubble. Even when the team does get healthy, they might want to continue to play Porter heavy minutes since he has averaged 29.3 points, 12.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and one block across their last four games. His salary is starting to climb, but it's still reasonable given his extremely high upside -- especially with Will Barton and Gary Harris still out.

Tim Hardaway Jr., DAL at UTA ($16): Hardaway has recorded a 21.1 percent usage rate this season, which is the fourth-highest mark among players who have appeared in at least 40 games for the Mavericks. He should be even busier with Doncic and Porzingis set to sit this one out, so don't be surprised if he blows by his season average of 15.6 points per contest.

Forward to Avoid

OG Anunoby, TOR at MIL ($19): Although Anunoby is averaging a career-high 10.7 points per game, his 14.3 percent usage rate severely limits his scoring upside. He's been quiet since the regular season resumed, scoring 23 Yahoo points or fewer in each of the last four games. Since his salary isn't overly cheap, it might be better to look elsewhere at small forward.

CENTERS

Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. IND ($33): The Heat were missing a few key players Saturday, but Adebayo came through with another productive game, scoring 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, nine assists and three blocks. Since the season resumed, he's registered at least six assists in three of the Heat's five games. He's had plenty of success against the Pacers this season, averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists in two previous matchups.

Boban Marjanovic, DAL at UTA ($10): If you want to take a chance on a player at the minimum salary, Marjanovic should at least be on your radar. With Porzingis out, Marjanovic could see added playing time. He normally produces when given increased opportunity, averaging 11.9 points and 8.6 rebounds across 15 games in which he has logged at least 15 minutes this season.

Center to Avoid

Marc Gasol, TOR at MIL ($14): Gasol's salary isn't expensive, but that doesn't mean he's someone to target if you need a more cost-effective option. His limited playing time puts a damper on his production, evident by the fact that he has scored 24.8 Yahoo points or fewer in each of the team's five games in Orlando. On top of that, the Bucks have allowed the fourth-fewest Yahoo points per game to opposing centers.
