FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are nine games on tap Saturday for DFS action in the NBA. Today's slate provides a mix of faces in new places and poor defensive teams for us to target and exploit in our DFS lineups. Let's take a look at today's value plays.

Point Guard

John Wall, WAS vs. NYK ($9,900): Wall is in this midst of one his most productive stretches of the season, having posted double-doubles in six of the past seven games. The matchup against the Knicks is about as good as it gets, as New York ranks in the bottom five in fantasy points allowed to point guards over the past three weeks.

Shelvin Mack, UTA at CHI ($6,200): Over the past month, Mack has seen his price increase by $2,700, and deservedly so. He has returned over 6x his price in seven of his last eight games. Look for Mack to take advantage of the Bulls backcourt defense, which is now allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to point guards.

Shooting Guard

Lance Stephenson, MEM at LAC ($7,200): It's revenge time! Nearly four weeks ago, the Clippers traded away perennial doghouse resident Stephenson for Jeff Green. Stephenson has since resurrected his career and tacked on $3,700 to his price. He's produced no fewer than 35 fantasy points in four straight games, including 46 and 52 against Minnesota and New Orleans, respectively. If Stephenson draws J.J. Redick on defense, he could be in line for another big stat-stuffing performance.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, DET vs. BKN ($5,300): If you've had a chance to look at the schedule for Detroit this week, you have to be salivating at the matchups for the shooting guard position. After facing the Sixers and Kings, KCP now draws the Nets, who have the worst shooting guard defense over the past three weeks. Bojan Bogdanovic has proven to be a significant downgrade defensively for Brooklyn that you should be targeting whenever he's available. Caldwell-Pope has paid off over 6x his price in three of his past four, and should have no problem doing it again at home versus the Nets.

Small Forward

Carmelo Anthony, NYK at WAS ($8,800): Here's a quick checklist that I run through for setting up my SF position on FanDuel. 1) Is Otto Porter playing today? 2) Does his opponent have a pulse? If the answer is yes to both, you have your top small forward option all set for you. Melo has scored 20+ points in eight of his past nine games and has been called upon to carry more of the offensive load with Kristaps Porzingis running into the rookie wall down the stretch.

Power Forward

Marvin Williams, CHA vs DEN ($6,100): Williams has scored at least 27 fantasy points in six of his past seven games while maintaining a price near $6K. He'll now face a Nuggets squad that has randomly decided to continue resting one of their better defenders in Kenneth Faried, which should be a boost to Williams' fantasy upside. Williams has scored in double figures in seven straight games, helping lead the Hornets to nine wins in their past 10.

Center

Robin Lopez, NYK at WAS ($5,600): Though he's never been the sexiest option in the pivot, RoLo keeps coming back into DFS relevance every few weeks like a zombie that just won't die. Lopez has been another beneficiary of Porzingis' second-half fade, which has helped increase his scoring output after the All-Star break. Lopez has scored in double digits 10 times over the past four weeks after averaging under 10 points per game through the first half of the season. Lopez is a nice bargain play in cash games at under $6K.
