Pistons Come Through, Secure OT Win Over Nuggets
The Detroit Pistons defeated the Denver Nuggets, 128-123, at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Pistons (18-33) and the Nuggets (34-16) opened Sunday's slate and the game surpassed expectations. While Denver was the favorite on paper, Detroit fought all game long and ended winning after a thrilling overtime period. The game went back and forth, though. Denver quickly jumped to a massive 44-30 lead following the first quarter, but Detroit flipped the script with a 38-21 second quarter that gave them a three-point lead. The Nuggets, however, won both quarters after the second half (24-22 and 22-21) to extend the game into overtime. The Pistons were sharper during the final five minutes of action, though, and sealed the win rather comfortably.

Andre Drummond led the way for Detroit after notching 21 points and 17 rebounds before fouling out. Sekou Doumbouya chipped in with 17 points and five boards, while Tony Snell had 13 points and six assists. Reggie Jackson had 20 points and six dimes off the bench, while Christian Wood added 11 points. Bruce Brown flirted with a triple-double off the bench with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Derrick Rose only had two points as a starter.

Nikola Jokic was Denver's focal point on offense once again and thrived, as he finished with 39 points, 11 assists and 10 boards. Will Barton had 20 points, nine rebounds and five dimes. Monte Morris added 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Jerami Grant posted 14 points, and Malik Beasley chipped in with 12 points off the bench.
