Grizzlies Hold On For Second Straight Win
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the visiting Phoenix Suns, 114-109, at FedEx Forum on Sunday evening.

The Grizzlies got out to a great start at home, with a 30-18 lead after one quarter. The Grizzlies stayed in control through the second and led by as many as 15 points, before settling on an 11-point lead at halftime. The Grizzlies maintained a 13-point lead mid way though the third quarter, but the Suns closed the quarter on a 21-11 run, to cut it to a three-point game heading into the final frame. The Suns kept the pressure on and tied it up at 82, early in the fourth. The Grizzlies responded immediately to reclaim the lead, and they did not slip up again, as they stayed a step ahead the rest of the way, to earn their second straight win.

Ja Morant led the Grizzlies with 23 points, eight assists, five rebounds and a steal, in 34 minutes. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 20 points, three rebounds, two blocks and a steal, while Dillon Brooks tallied 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. The Grizzlies shot 52 percent from the field, including 8-of-19 from long range.

Meanwhile, Devin Booker led the Suns with 36 points, five assists, two rebounds and a block, in 39 minutes. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 27 points, nine rebounds and three assists, while Deandre Ayton totalled 17 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks. The Suns shot 38 percent from the field, including 11-of-29 from long range.

The Suns (19-27) will look to bounce back as they take on the Mavericks on Tuesday. The Grizzlies (22-24) play host to the Nuggets on Tuesday.
