After one collegiate season at UNC, White was selected with the seventh overall pick by the Bulls in the 2019 NBA Draft. He made his NBA debut Oct. 23 against the Hornets. In 27 minutes, White posted 17 points (6-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT), seven assists and three rebounds. He went on to have his first 25-point game of the campaign just one game later against the Grizzlies. In 30 minutes, White posted 25 points (10-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and two assists. He had his first 30-point game Feb. 22 against the Suns, scoring 33 points on 22 shots in 34 minutes. He proceeded to have two more 30-point efforts in a row, dropping 33 again (on 18 shots) against the Wizards in 34 minutes and then posting 35 points on 21 shots against the Thunder in 33 minutes. During the final nine games of the pandemic-shortened regular season, White averaged 26.1 points, 4.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds in 19.9 minutes. During that stretch, he shot 48.0 percent from the field, 43.2 percent from three and 90.3 percent from the free-throw line. White's single-game season highs were 35 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, seven made threes, four steals and one block. Overall, he averaged 13.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 25.8 minutes while shooting 39.4 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from three and 79.1 percent from the free-throw line.
