Eric Paschall

After a strong rookie season with the Warriors during the 2019-20 campaign, Paschall managed to regress due to an injury-plagued 2020-21 season. Last year, the 24-year-old forward averaged 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 40 games. The Villanova product hit 49.7 percent from the field and made a career-best 33.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc. This offseason, the Warriors added frontcourt depth by drafting Jonathan Kuminga and signing Nemanja Bjelica. These moves ultimately got Paschall traded to Utah for the 2021-22 season, where the forward should end up filling a depth role behind Rudy Gay and Royce O'Neale. It's possible he's not an every-game player for Utah.

Paschall was one of the league's highest-scoring rookies as he averaged 14.0 points to go with 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 dimes across 27.6 minutes per contest in his first NBA campaign. The Villanova product started 26 games and excelled in the starting five, averaging 17.0 points and 5.7 boards in those contests. Klay Thompson missed the entire season, Stephen Curry missed the majority of the season as well and Draymond Green sat out 22 games, leaving Golden State depleted of playmakers. Paschall was thrown into a unique situation and made the most of his opportunities, though he'll likely take a step back in 2020-21. Curry is expected to be fully healthy, No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman should see plenty of minutes in the frontcourt, and Kelly Oubre was added to a rotation that already includes score-first guard Andrew Wiggins. Paschall won't fall off the face of the earth, and he should remain a regular part of the offense while coming off the bench, though it's not reasonable to expect a repeat of his 2019-20 numbers.

Paschall was selected with the 41st overall pick in the 2019 Draft. The 6-foot-9, 255-pound forward is a senior out of Villanova, and he was voted onto the All-Big East First Team last season. He posted averages of 16.5 points (44.7 FG%, 34.8 3P%, 74.6 FT%), 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 36.1 minutes. Appearing in three summer league games for the Warriors, he averaged 11.3 points on 7.3 shots, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists across 24.4 minutes. Considering how thin Golden State's roster is, Pascall should have a chance in training camp to earn true rotational minutes as a reserve. He has upside as a stretch big and could make an impact in the Warriors' space-oriented offense.
