Rays

Do you own Matt Moore? I do. In fact I own him in a lot of places. Talk to me, weren?t there some spots in your draft that it was him or Yu Darvish? Granted it was a rainout but who do you want? The answer is Moore, IMO.

I watched his whole outing this Friday night with much anticipation. In fact, you couldn?t find a pitcher with better odds to win considering the Rays were -180 and Cole Hamels was -140 |STAR|IN|STAR| San Diego (where is Carmen)?

I watched as I thought (and I?m biased as an owner) that Moore got squeezed a bit. Do tell me if I?m wrong.

I saw two strike three calls on a 2-2 count to Jamie Carroll who sat there with the bat. He rang up multiple two-strike counts for hits (he never gave up more than a single).

The Rays weakest position is catcher. Sean Rodriguez is definitely the best SS option offensively, Reid Brignac (terrible with the stick, IMO). Chris Gimenez doesn?t appear to be able to catch a fly, again IMO. A note to him ? hold a close pitch, talk to the ump in between innings, it can?t hurt. The Twins showed zero respect for him on the basepaths and rightfully so.

Brandon Gomes shouldn't be used in high leverage situations. His WHIP didn?t make his ERA last season.

Luke Scott looks like he?s not 100 percent. He?s playing through his injury (hamstring) and hitting in the heart of the order. Keep him active.

Matt Joyce is awesome against RHP. LHP, we?re still figuring out.

The outfield of Desmond Jennings and B.J. Upton is one of the best in the bigs. Boost the defense a tad considering those two.

If you gave me the choice between James Shields and David Price, Price is the no-brainer. His ability to right-handed batters with his breaking pitch is sick. He?s the Mariano Rivera of starters with his bat-breaking ability.

Fernando Rodney seems to be the answer. I?d be leery of Kyle Farnsworth coming back considering his issues last season and now. It?s Brian Wilson ? ish.

Buy, buy Desmond Jennings. Ditto for Andrew McCutchen. An obvious call here but I?ll bank it pays off in daily leagues (hint, hint) as soon as Saturday.
