Happy Pre-Friday

As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I typically don't like wagering on baseball on Mondays and Thursdays, when there are fewer games from which to choose. However, there is a full 15 games on today's schedule, so I am calling today pre-Friday and selecting the following:

Brewers – Astros Over 7.5
Bet $150
Fireworks seem to fly when these two teams play each other. The Over is 10-1 in their last 11 meetings and 6-1 in the last seven in Houston. Shaun Marcum allowed four runs and walked four in just five innings in a 7-5 loss to Houston earlier this season. His opponent, J.A. Happ, gave up four runs and two homers in five innings in that game, and has a 5.70 ERA in six career starts versus the Brewers. Happ has allowed 11 runs and four homers in 10 innings over his last two outings. The Over is 8-3-2 in the Brewers last 13 games vs. a left-handed starter and 5-2 in Happ's last seven starts (12-5 in his last 17 home starts). Corey Hart is batting .404 with five homers and nine RBIs during a 12-game hitting streak against the Astros, and is 7 for 15 with three doubles and a home run off Happ. The Over is 4-1-1 in the Brewers last 6 road games and 7-3-1 in Marcum's last 11 starts. Carlos Lee, 2 for 7 with a home run versus Marcum, is 11 for 21 in his last five games. He's batting .429 with three homers and 10 RBIs during a nine-game hitting streak against Milwaukee.

Season record: 9-4, +$535
