NFBC Week #8 FAAB Results

Matt Adams and Tyler Clippard lead the way, plus I found out it's not easy bidding on Greene ...

More speed, and another starting pitcher to stream. EY Jr. doesn't play every day, but he's ridiculously fast, and the Rockies have seven home games this week. I wrote up J.A. Happ in the NL FAAB article this week - short story is I see some skills growth, and if I'm going to start going 7-2 in SP vs. RP, I need another strikeout guy to stream with.

- Remember when I said that I had three closers, and thus felt less pressure to bid on a free agent closer? Yeah, that was a lot of fun. I understand that Clippard isn't even guaranteed to be the guy, and that he'll probably lose the job once Drew Storen comes back, perhaps at the All-Star break. But he could get 10-15 saves before then, and moreover, at least he's a good pitcher (cue the jinx music). I lost Grant Balfour and now Brandon League - I'm keeping League on my roster, at least.

- I also overspent on Tyler Greene, apparently by a considerable margin. But I like his power-speed combo, and think that he'll continue to earn more playing time at second base as time goes on. Plus, he's the likely option at shortstop if Rafael Furcal gets hurt.
