Mock Auction II Draft Results: TE

rotosynthesis.rotowire.com/Mock-Auction-II-Draft-Results-RB-BBD3931.htmJust over two weeks ago I shared the results of my first mock auction for the 2012 season.  Since then, we compared the results from the second mock auction at QB, RB and RE.  Today we look at TE variances with regard to player value.  Over the next few days we will wrap it up with PK and TDSP.

As a reminder, this is a 10 team auction, with each team given $200 to draft a 14-man roster that includes 2 QB, 3 RB, 3 RE, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (RB, WR or TE), 1 PK, 1 TDSP and 2 RES.

The tight end position had the least player value changes among the skill positions, with the top four – Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Vernon Davis and Antonio Gates – receiving similar bids in both mock auctions.  In fact, owners spent $61 on these four in draft one, an $59 in draft two.  The only significant variances between draft were with Aaron Hernandez, whose bid increased by $7, and Jason Witten, whose $9 bid in draft one put him in the top five, only to go without a bid in draft two.

There were just two new names in draft two:  Jared Cook ($3) and Brent Celek ($2), and four that failed to make the cut from draft one: the aforementioned Witten, Owen Daniels ($3), Jacob Tamme ($1), and Dallas Clark ($1).

After I run down the draft results at all positions I'm going to wait until early August, when pre-season games begin, before conducting the next mock auction draft to see how player values change.

Until then, please share your thoughts on these drafts, player values, or anything else that is on your mind heading in to the 2012 fantasy football season.
