DFS Amateur Hour - Tuesday Postscript

I rolled out seven different lineups, six of which failed to cash. The exception was the $10 Double Up where I played it safe with Shelby Miller as my starter. So I lost $34, but won $10 for a net of -$24, to bring my bankroll down to $883.

I actually did fine with pitching yesterday - four of my seven lineups had Danny Salazar (12 points), one had Rick Porcello (17 points) and one had Miller (21 points.) Even the one with a cheap Jeff Locke (eight points) was survivable, but for my terrible hitting. I'm not overly concerned though. I'm setting tournament-style lineups in large-field contests, so there are going to be some bad scores if the Pirates don't hit the Reds' rookie starter or the Astros don't hit Wandy Rodriguez. I suppose I could play more "safe" Double Ups with conservative (non-stacked) lineups, but I think my bankroll is still big enough to spread it around between $3, $5 and $10 high-upside contests, mostly looking for the big score.

I was actually thinking of including some $25 contests - and I might do some 50/50s or Double Ups at that level - but until I make some of my straight and flush draws, I think the small ones are better for large-field tournaments, given the size of my (shrinking) bankroll.
