NHL Eastern Conference Friday: Rick Nash and Mighty Mite Finally Show Up

Just a few things that caught my eye:

  • Rick Nash needs Mats Zuccarello more than Mats Zuccarello needs Rick Nash ... even with Friday's Nash breakout. Discuss.
  • Now I know what it looks like to see tiny little triplets pull a temper tantrum. But it's not like there wasn't enough room for the three of them in the box, though. Brendan Morrow still had room to do his spin with those three in there.

  • Hmmm ... which Harvard grad would you take -- Dominic Moore or Alex Killorn? Right. It isn't even close. Sorry I asked.
  • I love the Blackhawks, but the Ducks should be up 3-0 in that series. Can you say dominant?
  • Back to Killorn -- he has three goals and three assists in the past three games. He's already the best Harvard grad in the NHL He has the skill to play on the top line and the brains to fit in anywhere. #glueguy
  • I love Jonathan Toews. But I love to watch Patrick Kane -- that spin-o-rama backhand goal Thursday was GIF-worthy.
  • So, it was Ben Bishop's turn to throw back-to-back sieve games. Then again, his teammates didn't give him much support. Like the Victor Hedman's own goal. Or all of the penalty kills. But can he rebound like Henrik Lundqvist did after his two bloated performances? The Bolts sure hope so.
  • Look who finally showed up. It only took 16 games, but Marty St. Louis got his first playoff goal. And Rick Nash sniped two ... and in doing so doubled his goal total. For the entire playoffs. 'Bout time. Funny things happen when you go to the net, Ricky.
