DFS Amateur Hour - Friday Postscript

Long story short, I invested $80 in last night's contests, but took back only $45, meaning I lost $35. My bankroll was 1012.60, now it's $977.60.

Short story long, I failed to cash in the two $25 $500 Super Grand Slams, and it was frustrating because one of them had Chris Carter (sprained ankle before his first at-bat took him out of the game), and it didn't miss by much despite that and Sonny Gray's five points out of the pitching slot. (I finished 5,064 out of 20,945, when the first 4,141 made the cut.)

The Carter injury also cost me in the Tout Wars contest where I finished 13 of 44, 2.16 points from cashing. It also didn't help that the Marlins pulled Jose Fernandez 70 pitches into a 2-2 game.

I did recoup $45 by beating csuram88 in our heads up. I actually have to credit the RotoWire optimizer with that as I locked in Buster Posey, Jose Fernandez, Justin Upton and Mike Trout, and it recommended I use Kyle Seager (two homers) and Jedd Gyorko (one) among others to fill out the roster on the cheap. That puts me at 2-1 against the pros so far, though obviously three contests prove nothing.
