Friday Training Camp Notes: Russell Wilson's Wallet Is Fatter

Here's a look at training camps from Friday:

- Russell Wilson got paid. Wilson signed a four-year, $87.6 million extension with $60 million guaranteed. The deal isn't a surprise to anyone and with Wilson happy with the new contract he should be primed for another big season. The addition of Jimmy Graham gives him the best receiving weapon he's ever had and Wilson will still get plenty of valuable rushing yards for fantasy owners. Look for him to finish as a top-5 player at the position.

- Jay Ajayi left practice with an apparent shoulder injury. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time although it's worth noting he was holding his arm and had to be helped off the field by a trainer. Ajayi was in a great spot to eat into Lamar Miller's workload and has the potential to take over the lion's share of touches at some point this season. The options after Miller and Ajayi are nothing special and if the injury is significant, give Miller's value a small bump.

- Joseph Randle handled snaps with the first team while Darren McFadden remains on the PUP list. This doesn't come as a surprise while DMC is out and Jason Garrett said he expects him back as soon as next week. However, this is the second minor injury McFadden has had already and his history doesn't instill a lot of confidence. It appears Randle is the back to own between the two and could be a nice value provided the hype train doesn't gather any more momentum.

- Percy Harvin spent some time playing cornerback during the Bills' opening practice Friday. Nothing to see here as the Bills are a little short at the position with Leodis McKelvin banged up. Still, word is that Harvin approached Rex Ryan with the idea so while it's a long shot, Harvin could see some time on defense.

- Joique Bell is progressing but the Lions have no timetable for his return. In the meantime, rookie Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick are getting plenty of snaps with the first team in practice. Abdullah has the most upside between the two and his stock will continue to rise as long as Bell is sidelined. Abdullah is capable of handling a full workload and is more than adequate as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

- Larry Donnell participated in team drills Friday. He has been dealing with tendonitis in his Achilles', a problem that dates back to his college days. As a result the Giants had him take it easy over the last month with the plan that he would return for camp this week. He's a solid No.2 tight end target provided he's able to stay healthy during camp.

- Trent Richardson was placed on the non-football injury list. Do not draft Trent Richardson. Do not draft Trent Richardson. Do not draft Trent Richardson.

- Vernon Davis stated that he feels like a rookie again. There's no reason to put any stock in a story like this as Davis is 31. However, it's worth noting that the 49ers passing attack should have upside value this season. There was a significant number of strong contributors on defense that retired and as a result they shouldn't be a top defense. A downgrade in the defense as well as giving up an uptick in points should mean the offense throws more as a result. Davis should have more space to work over the middle with Torrey Smith stretching the defense vertically.

- Lovie Smith said Friday that Jameis Winston will be the team's starting quarterback. This is no surprise to anyone with the Buccaneers having no other great options and that they used their top draft pick on him. Winston is probably going to throw plenty of picks this season but also has one of the bigger tandem of receivers in the league in Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans. He'll have an interesting Week 1 matchup going up against fellow rookie Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans.

- Devonta Freeman got the first rep with the first team offense in 11-on-11 drills. Tevin Coleman remains on his heels but Freeman knows the offense better. There's a lot of time for the pecking order to change before Week 1 and some type of timeshare is likely to start the season.
