Caldwell (suspension) announced Sunday that he intends to transfer from New Mexico, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Caldwell will be looking to move on to the third Division I school of his career, as he played in 16 games as a true freshman at Texas A&M in 2017-18 before sitting out the following season after transferring to New Mexico. In his debut season with the Lobos, Caldwell started in New Mexico's first 13 games and averaged 5.8 points. 5.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 31.4 minutes before being suspended in December following an accusation of domestic battery. The point guard was later reinstated to the university in mid-January, but he never appeared in a game for the Lobos thereafter. He'll now attempt to find an opportunity elsewhere for what will be his final season of eligibility, though he could be forced to sit out the 2020-21 campaign in accordance with NCAA transfer rules.
