2020 Tournament PreviewKansas enters the 2020 NCAA Tournament with one of the best 1-2 punches in all of college basketball, as Devon Dotson (18.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.0 apg) mans the backcourt while Udoza Azubuike (13.7 ppg, 10.5 rpg) anchors the frontcourt. After experimenting earlier in the year with both Azubuike and David McCormack in the starting five, coach Bill Self decided to instead spread out the floor using Azubuike and four guards. This has had a tremendous impact on the defensive end, as the Jayhawks sport the nation's No. 1 defensive efficiency rating (per KenPom) and allow opponents to convert just 42.4 percent of two-point baskets (No. 5 nationwide). One potential area of weakness is outside shooting, but a now-healthy Isaiah Moss -- who leads the team shooting 37.6 percent from distance -- should help the cause. Dotson and Ochai Agbaji (10.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg) are also capable of hitting the three when called upon, as is "glue guy" Marcus Garrett (9.2 ppg, 4.6 apg, 4.5 rpg), who shoots 31.7 percent from distance. The Jayhawks enter this tournament red-hot and lead the nation in Quadrant 1 wins (12). It's a team with the talent and experience to win the region, and possibly a national title.
