Jamarcus Nelson

Although he's a lightweight at 5-11, 160, Nelson might be the nation's best deep threat, taking his 81 career receptions for 1,618 yards (20.0 YPC) and 16 touchdowns. He finally got into the starting lineup last year and enjoyed a breakout season with 42 receptions, 846 yards (20.1 YPC) and eight touchdowns in just 10 games, missing two games with an ankle sprain. He added a kick return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown, as well. The UAB offense should improve under the watch of new coach Bill Clark (previously of Jacksonville State) this year, though new quarterback Cody Clements could need breaking in to start the year.
