Tops team in receiving yards
October 7, 2017
Blacknall caught four passes for a team-high 74 yards Saturday against Northwestern.
ANALYSIS
Blacknall hasn't done much for the Nittany Lions offense this season, collecting just five passes total before Saturday's effort. It's difficult to see him racking up a ton of yardage when the team comes out of its bye week Oct. 21 to face one of the nation's premier defenses in Michigan.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2014
Blacknall is the biggest of the projected starters in Penn State’s receiving corps, checking in at 6-3, 212 pounds. He wasn’t prominently featured in the Penn State offense in 2015, but he thrived when given the chance. Blacknall hauled in eight of 18 targets for 248 yards, which is good enough for an astounding 31 yards per reception, and one touchdown. His touchdown was a noteworthy one as he beat Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers down the sideline and made a good adjustment back to the ball in the end zone. Blacknall will likely be the third option in the receiving corps behind Chris Godwin and DaeSean Hamilton, but he has the athleticism and big-play ability to be a dangerous weapon in a new offense that promises to be more high flying than the plodding system that ex-OC John Donovan ran in 2014 and 2015.
The Nittany Lions seem to have one wideout spot accounted for with redshirt sophomore Geno Lewis, but after that...? It doesn't necessarily look bad per se, as Blacknall and Chris Godwin are two of the better receiver prospects of this year, but the duo might need to step into significant roles immediately as true freshmen. Other than Lewis, Penn State's next most productive returning wideout is Matt Zanellato, who caught four passes for 53 yards last year.
