Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2018
Among returning running backs with more than 150 carries, only two other players -- Travis Etienne and Jonathan Taylor -- averaged more per carry than Swift’s 6.7 YPC mark. Swift is not only explosive, but he plays in an offense that runs it 60.3 percent of the time, which ranked 18th in the nation in 2018. Elijah Holyfield’s departure should open additional carries for Swift behind an elite offensive line with several future NFL prospects. Swift’s 32 catches in 2018 round out his skills profile and bolsters his likelihood of finishing as one of college fantasy’s top players.
Swift may seem like the heir apparent to take up the mantle of Georgia's next big-time back, but context is needed her. Yes, Georgia will have a strong run game and yes Swift showed plenty of promise as a freshman; however, there are several mouths to feed in Athens. Georgia's backfield is loaded to where it doesn't need to lean on one back for all of its production. Elijah Holyfield, Brian Herrien, and even freshman Zamir White will all command carries to spell Swift. Still, Swift is lined up to be Georgia's starter and will be running behind one of the top offensive lines in the nation. Swift projects as one of the SEC's top rushers even if he doesn't see true workhorse volume.
