Turning pro, sitting out bowl game
December 22, 2020
Eagles announced Tuesday on his personal Twitter account that he has elected to enter the 2021 NFL Draft and will bypass the Longhorns' bowl game.
ANALYSIS
Eagles hasn't exactly lit it up over the last two seasons in Austin but has averaged more than 16 yards per reception in each of the last two campaigns. Given Eagles' limited tape in college, he will likely need to put on a show at the combine next spring to boost his draft stock, but he does have solid measurables at 6-foot-4, 229 pounds.

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Eagles stepped up in 2019 as the Longhorns' third best receiver behind Devin Duvernay and Collin Johnson. With Duvernay and Johnson both gone to the NFL, Eagles should have no problem surpassing his 32 catches for 522 yards and six touchdowns on 65 targets from last season. He'll have the benefit of top tier quarterback Sam Ehlinger returning as well as pairing with a talented sophomore wideout in Jake Smith. Texas has a lot to prove in 2020 and Eagles will be a pivotal piece in helping them have a productive year.
