Rygol announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he entered the NCAA's transfer portal with the intention of leaving South Florida.
ANALYSIS
The rising redshirt junior confirmed in his post that he would not return to South Florida for "financial reasons," so he'll presumably be looking to join a program that's willing to put him on scholarship. As a walk-on who joined the South Florida roster in 2019 following one season apiece at Division II North Greenville and JUCO school ASA College, Rygol opened the campaign third on the Bulls' depth chart at quarterback. Due to injuries to Blake Barnett (ankle) and Jordan McCloud (arm), Rygol was pressed into action and finished with 12 completions on 24 attempts for 170 yards and two touchdowns to go with 29 rushing yards over his five appearances. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop.
