Purdue starting quarterback Hudson Card struggled mightily against Nebraska's stingy defense, completing just 16 of 32 passes for 100 yards and one touchdown to two interceptions. Nevertheless, Dixon-Veal benefitted with by far his best statistical performance of the season, including his first touchdown of the year. The junior wideout also finished as the Boilermakers' second-leading receiver behind tight end Garrett Mitchell on Saturday (five catches, seven targets, 26 yards). Dixon-Veal did not log a target while barely seeing the field through the first four weeks of the season, but he's now logged 15 targets over the past four games, catching eight passes for 65 yards. The Boilermakers will face an even tougher defense when they head to Michigan in Week 10.
