Davis officially retired from the NFL on Monday, the Associated Press reports.
ANALYSIS
Obviously Davis wasn't anyone who we were counting on to ever return to the NFL, but he had held on to slim hopes that he might be able to make a comeback at some point. Degenerative conditions in both knees led him to cut his brilliant career short. In both real and fantasy terms, for three years (1996-1998), Davis was as just about as good as it gets.
