His final numbers don’t look like much, but Bradley had a decent five-game stretch after signing with the Chiefs midseason and before he was derailed by a calf injury. At 6-2, 198 and with good speed and excellent athleticism, Bradley looks the part of the star receiver and has shown flashes of his potential even going back to his days on the Bears. But Bradley’s never put it together for a consistent stretch, and only got his chance in Kansas City after being released by Chicago. Heading into 2009, Bradley’s in an almost ideal situation with Matt Cassel bringing stability to the quarterback position, and head coach Todd Haley likely to throw frequently. If Bradley can stay healthy and keep his focus, he could emerge as the Chiefs primary downfield threat with Bowe and slot man Bobby Engram filling possession roles.
Bradley finally stayed healthy in 2007, but it didn't result in the playing time that someone with his talent would usually get. He's tantalized the Bears in the past with incredible shows of ability that almost invariably precede a serious injury. Still, there should be plenty of opportunity for Bears' receivers to prove they belong with Bernard Berrian and Muhsin Muhammad gone. Bradley isn't a guy you should be considering on draft day, but could be worth keeping an eye on if he gets significant PT.
Health has not exactly been on Bradley's side since he entered the NFL in 2005. After tearing his ACL during his rookie season, the wideout was plagued by a multitude of injuries last year, causing him to miss six games. It appears though that Bradley is entering this season free of any ailments, meaning he could finally make the fantasy impact we've been waiting for. The former Sooner has a great combination of size and speed, making him both a useful deep threat and short-yardage receiver. If given an opportunity, Bradley, who had three touchdowns on just 14 catches in '06, could surprise this year and develop into one of Rex Grossman's favorite targets.
Bradley's rookie season was cut short last year after he tore his ACL in Week 8, but the wideout enters training camp at close to full health and ready to compete with Bernard Berrian for the No. 2 receiver job. The extremely talented Bradley showed flashes of what he's capable of in the seven games he played in 2005, so the Bears are expecting big things out of the former Sooner. If Bradley is able to beat out Berrian for a starting WR job, he is a great sleeper to grab in the late rounds of your fantasy draft.
Bradley, the Bears' 2005 second-round selection, simply exudes athleticism. At 6-1, 201 lbs., he has tremendous size, speed, and jumping ability, all reasons why Chicago took him with the 39th overall pick. However, the former Sooner is extremely raw and does not yet have the skill-set needed to be an NFL wideout. Down the road, Bradley has the talent to become something special. Right now, though, he'll likely contribute more on special teams than in the passing game.
