2007
Henry is around for depth in the preseason and to have bodies work out of the backfield during training camp practices. The Texans fully intend to have Steve Slaton, Arian Foster and Ben Tate compete for the top running-back jobs, leaving Henry to make a big enough impression during exhibition games to hook on with another team when he's eventually released.
With Chris Johnson and LenDale White leading the way in the Titans' rushing attack, Henry only had one carry in 2008. With the drafting of former Michigan State running back, Javon Ringer, he may not see any playing time at all in 2009.
The 2007 second round pick had a tough rookie season, rushing for just 119 yards, while being suspended four games for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Things don't expect to get much better for Henry, as the Titans selected Chris Johnson in the first round of the 2008 draft. Look for Henry's main contribution to be on special teams.
Listed at 5-11, 240, Henry never ran for more than 581 yards in any collegiate season and was never a starter in college or high school. Still, there's some upside here, as Henry’s a similar back to his competition, LenDale White, only with a lot more speed - Henry ran the 40-yard dash in 4.40 seconds. With Travis Henry no longer in town, the Titans running back job is open for competition. Coach Jeff Fisher heaped praise on Henry, referring to him as an every-down back. With not much background to go off, fantasy owners will have to take a leap of faith with Henry, but with so little competition in Tennessee and impressive measurables, Henry could be one of the better sleepers this year.
