2019 Fantasy Outlook
Core was set to begin 2019 roughly in the same spot as he was in before 2018 -- fighting to make the roster and projected to see most of his playing time on special teams if he does make the team. Then the Bengals lost A.J. Green to an ankle injury and John Ross to a hamstring injury, leaving Core to work alongside Tyler Boyd with the first-string offense in training camp. There are still a few obstacles between Core and regular snaps on offense, including his subpar performance over the past three seasons in limited opportunities. Even if Green and Ross miss time in the regular season, Core will need to fend off competition from Alex Erickson and Josh Malone, among others. Read Past Outlooks

The Giants and Core agreed to terms on a contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
The special teams ace suited up for 283 snaps last year, hauling in just three passes for 28 yards across 16 games. Core will return to an organization with a new head coach but the same special-teams coach, meaning he'll likely fill a role with limited offensive utility once again.

2016
After catching 17 passes for 200 yards in his rookies season in 2016, Core was held without a catch last season, though he received over 200 snaps on special teams. The release of Brandon LaFell opens up a spot in the receiving rotation, though Core will be hard pressed to work his way into that rotation even still. He's clearly behind A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd and John Ross, and he's likely also chasing Josh Malone. That leaves him fighting for a roster spot, with two likely coming between him, Alex Erickson and Auden Tate.
Core had a decent season for a sixth-round rookie in 2016, finishing the year with 17 catches for 200 yards in just eight games. He was inactive for much of the season but came on late, totaling all of his production in December. Unfortunately for Core, the addition of John Ross in the 2017 draft likely relegates him to the No. 5 wideout slot. Core will figure to see the field for more than just eight games in 2017, but he won't likely see regular action unless a swath of injuries strikes the Bengals' receiving corps.
Core was drafted in the sixth round with the 199th overall pick of the draft. While Core put together a solid campaign as the No. 2 wideout at Ole Miss, he'll likely find himself fighting for a depth spot in the Bengals' receiving corps. He'll compete with James Wright, Brandon Tate and second-round pick Tyler Boyd for reps behind established wideouts A.J. Green and Brandon LaFell. The Bengals are the thinnest they've been at wide receiver in recent years, meaning Core could get his opportunity at some point during the season.
