2019 Fantasy Outlook
Reed's breakout 10-5 sack performance in 2018 likely eased the Seahawks worries about trading Frank Clark during the offseason. That sack number could see some regression in 2019, though, as opposing offenses won't have to focus on Clark, who was traded to Kansas City, and instead the older and oft-injured Ezekiel Ansah. Although he's still an impressive run-stopper, Reed's IDP value should be questioned appropriately because of the Clark trade. Read Past Outlooks

Pass rush falls in 2019
DTSeattle Seahawks
January 14, 2020
Reed, who made three tackles over two playoff games, finished the 2019 season with 27 tackles, two sacks and a pass breakup over 10 regular-season games.
ANALYSIS
Reed served a six-game suspension to start the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy, but he was able to play every game for the rest of the season upon his reinstatement. The 27-year-old defensive tackle racked up 10.5 sacks and 31 quarterback pressures in the 2018 campaign, but those numbers dropped to a prorated 3.2 and 20.8 this season. He's a valued run-stopper, though, and he'll likely be a top priority for the Seahawks to re-sign before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in March.

Reed, who is a 2016 second-round pick, played in reserve roles during his first two seasons, but he got starter-sized snap counts in 2017 when Nazair Jones injured his ankle. Reed finished the season with 45 tackles and 1.5 sacks, and he's expected to start Week 1 at nose tackle. However, without a consistent pass rush, Reed isn't marked as a top IDP asset.
The 6-3, 306, Reed is expected to start at defensive tackle this season. But whereas last year he played mostly as a run-stuffing DT, this season he could be used more as an inside pass rusher. He also needs to say healthy after dealing with leg and toe injuries last season. Like most defensive tackles, though, his IDP value is limited, but his developing game will be key for the defensive line.
