2019 Fantasy Outlook
A classic size and speed prospect with a 6-5 frame and a 4.47 40-yard-dash time, Patrick went undrafted due, in large part, to his injury history at Utah. After turning heads in training camp, Patrick worked his way from special-teams ace to backup target to the team's leading receiver during the season's final four games - collecting 242 yards on 19 catches. There are few certainties with so much youth at receiver in Denver, but Patrick's continued development could create a threatening duo on the outside along with Courtland Sutton - two towering targets with exceptional ability on contested catches. January 5, 2020
Patrick caught 16 of 31 targets for 218 yards during an injury-shortened 2019 season.
ANALYSIS
Patrick injured his hand early in Week 1's loss in Oakland and didn't return to action until Week 11 in Minnesota. He never came close to the 77 yards he picked up in that first game. Patrick was useful on third down, using his big frame to shield defenders and pick up first downs. He did not emerge as a consistent threat opposite Courtland Sutton, however, and will likely be met with some additional competition on the depth chart in 2020 should he return as an exclusive-rights free agent. Assuming Denver adds to the receivers room during the offseason, Patrick figures to be a down-roster receiver and special-teams ace in 2020.
