ANALYSIS
Scott logged one appearance with the Jets last season, hauling in his only target for a 16-yard gain. The 2018 fourth-round pick of the Ravens will now search for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2018
The 2018 fourth-rounder finds himself in a battle for a roster spot after the Ravens actively upgraded their receiving corps during the offseason. Scott didn't play a snap during his rookie season and comes into the 2019 campaign buried on the depth chart yet again. Scott has some intriguing traits -- he's a big receiver at 6-5 with decent athleticism and an ability to use his frame to go up and get the ball. The issue is that the Ravens invested in a more athletic big receiver in this past April's draft by taking Miles Boykin out of Notre Dame. Scott may have garnered a fourth-round selection just a year ago, but the Ravens' decision to spend two top-100 picks on receivers this year shows that they're not counting on Scott to be a major contributor. Scott thus projects as a developmental player in 2019 who will have to fight for a 53-man roster spot. If he makes the team, he's unlikely to be higher than the No. 6 receiver on the team's depth chart.
A fourth-round selection, Scott is a small school product with a big-time frame. Checking in at 6-5, 210 pounds, Scott has the potential to be a red zone contributor right away while he learns the nuances that come with being a successful outside receiver at the NFL level. He'll have heavy competition for targets, however. The Ravens acquired three veteran receivers this offseason in Michael Crabtree, John Brown, and Willie Snead. Third-year receiver Chris Moore is also in the mix for targets and Baltimore selected another receiver, Jordan Lasley, in the fifth round in addition to nabbing two pass-catching tight ends earlier in the draft. With that, it's a crowded group off pass catchers that will make it tough for Scott to see many reps outside of four-receiver sets early in his career.
