Contributes as pass catcher
WRAtlanta Falcons
September 28, 2020
Powell hauled in three of his four targets for a total of 27 receiving yards during Sunday's 30-26 loss to Chicago.
ANALYSIS
With Julio Jones (hamstring) ruled out pregame and Russell Gage forced to exit early Sunday because of a head injury, Atlanta was left thin at receiver. Against the Bears, Powell saw offensive snaps in a game for just the second time since 2018, after he spent 2019 bouncing between the Falcons' practice squad and active roster without ever fielding a regular-season snap. If Jones and Gage are unable to play Week 4 against the Packers, Powell would be in line for wide receiver snaps behind Calvin Ridley, Christian Blake and Olamide Zaccheaus.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
After going undrafted out of Florida in 2018, Powell latched on with the Lions and ultimately saw action in six regular-season games. He only caught five passes for 26 yards in his first five appearances, but exploded for six receptions and 103 yards in the season finale, when neither Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones or Bruce Ellington were healthy enough to play. While Golladay and Jones are back and healthy in 2019, both Ellington and TJ Jones were allowed to walk in free agency and Danny Amendola was the only notable receiver signed to fill in. That leaves the No. 4 receiver job up for the taking, and Powell is one of the favorites to snag the job.
