The Texans selected Gillaspia in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 220th overall.
A homing-missile of a blocker from Texas A&M, Gillaspia is likely better suited as a special teams ace at the NFL level considering how the fullback position has devolved over the years.

NFL Draft: Day 3 Fantasy Fallout
April 27, 2019
There was some thought Bryce Love might last until the sixth or seventh round, but Washington scooped him up in the fourth, presumably with plans for a 2019 redshirt.
2019 Fantasy Outlook
Gillaspia joins the Texans as a local kid from Katy (Tex.) who graduated from Texas A&M. Selected in the seventh round, Gillaspia played linebacker his first three seasons before shifting to fullback for his senior season and was named the Aggies' traditional 12th man. The Texans rostered fullback Jay Prosch from 2014 through 2017, but went without one in 2018. Head coach Bill O'Brien may have missed Prosch's presence as a blocker, so Gillaspia could serve that role.
