2023 Fantasy Outlook
Bolton has proven early in his young career to have a nose for the football, registering 112 tackles as a rookie second-rounder in 2021 and following that up with a whopping 180 tackles (108 solo) in 2022, ranking him second in the NFL behind only Foye Oluokun. In terms of IDP producers, the Chiefs' starting middle linebacker should rank among the most sought-after options regardless of position, on the heels of posting 13 games with nine or more tackles last season while adding two sacks and a pair of interceptions. Bolton (wrist/abdomen) is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
ANALYSIS
Bolton practiced in full all week long, but with the Chiefs locked into the third seed in the AFC, he could see limited playing time or sit in pads on the sideline for the team's regular-season finale. Over his last four games, Bolton has 32 tackles (23 solo).

Set for expanded role in Year 2
LBKansas City Chiefs
June 12, 2022
Bolton is expected to take on added responsibilities for Kansas City's defense in 2022 after the release of veteran linebacker Anthony Hitchens, Michael Baca of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bolton was excellent as a rookie, registering 112 tackles, but the 2021 second-round pick is set for an even bigger role in 2022 after the Chiefs waived Hitchens this offseason. In Hitchens' absence, Bolton will shift from weakside linebacker into the middle of Kansas City's defense, which should translate into more opportunities for the versatile defender in Year 2. However, given the position change and added responsibilities, it's possible Bolton struggles out of the gate, but he's still expected to be a foundational piece to a squad that also lost Tyrann Mathieu to free agency.

2022
2021
Bolton stepped in as a rookie and made his presence felt, racking up a team-high 112 tackles (57 solo) despite starting just 12 of the 16 games he appeared in. While Bolton didn't necessarily excel as a coverage linebacker last season, he was solid as both a run stopper and a pass rusher and should reprise his role on the inside in 2022.
Bolton was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and could be in line to make an immediate impact in Kansas City. With Damien Wilson now out of the picture, more snaps in the linebacker rotation should be available, and Bolton figures to be the top candidate to handle a chunk of those if he shows well during training camp. He joins a linebacking corps with Anthony Hitchens, Willie Gay, and Ben Niemann as the other primary contributors.
