Jenkins re-signed with the Raiders on Sunday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
Jenkins logged career highs in both tackles (61) and passes defended (four) during his first season with the Raiders last year. The 359-pound defensive tackle spent three of the previous four seasons with the Dolphins, and he was reportedly hosted for a visit by the team last week, per Jackson. However, Jenkins ultimately will head back to the Raiders on a one-year deal worth $3.25 million, according to Amber Wilson of ESPN. Jenkins has played for seven different teams during his 12-year career, and he will enter his age-35 season in 2024.

Jenkins rejoins Miami after having played with the team in 2019. The veteran nose tackle will lock down a reserve role.
Jenkins enters his age-30 season having played for five different teams. In 2019 with the Dolphins, he posted 34 tackles and one sack which was better than his combined totals of the prior three seasons. However, with Eddie Goldman having opted out of the season, Jenkins stands an excellent chance of being the starter at nose tackle where he could average a couple tackles per game, though it's unlikely he'll have much upside in IDP leagues.
The fourth-year defensive tackle started 42 games the last three season, averaging 33 tackles per year. With the Saints signing Nick Fairley this offseason and drafting Sheldon Rankins with the 12th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jenkins will face stiff competition for snaps. Even if he is able to again secure the majority of the playing time, with only 1.5 career sacks -- and none last year -- Jenkins is not a particularly enticing option in most fantasy leagues.
Jenkins served as a backup defensive tackle for most of 2014, but with Broderick Bunkley sidelined for the latter part of the season, Jenkins responded with some fantasy-worthy IDP performances. He finished the year with 30 tackles (20 solo) and one sack in 12 games. So long as Bunkley is healthy, however, Jenkins holds little fantasy value.
In his rookie season in 2013, Jenkins proved to be a prototypical nose guard in the Saints 3-4 defense, taking on multiple blockers and plugging holes. Jenkins, however, didn't show much as a pass rusher and managed only 21 tackles in 16 games, which limits his fantasy upside.
Drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft, Jenkins will compete for the starting nose tackle position with the Saints. Even if he earns the starting gig, Jenkins will likely be primarily a run-stuffer, limiting his fantasy value.
