It was a tough season for Gustavsson, who started the year as the No. 1 goaltender in Minnesota, but relinquished it late in the season. playing only eight of the Wild's final 20 games. He was 20-17-5 with a 3.06 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 2023-24. The Wild have already signed Marc-Andre Fleury to a one-year extension and would love it if Jesper Wallstedt was ready to take on a significant role between the pipes.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Gustavsson saw action in 18 games for the rebuilding Senators a season ago, managing a 5-12-1 record, 3.55 GAA and .892 save percentage. He was flipped to Minnesota in July in exchange for veteran goaltender Cam Talbot. Gustavsson will play this entire season at age 24 and has just 27 NHL appearances under his belt, but he should be considered the favorite to back up future Hall-of-Famer Marc-Andre Fleury this coming year. The Wild will almost certainly limit the workload of the 37-year-old Fleury, so Gustavsson could easily play 30-plus games for Minnesota in 2022-23.
