Shawn Hutchinson encourages you to see this season out regardless of where you finish, and that means taking him up on some of his waiver-wire suggestions for the week.
This week's risers include Las Vegas' Logan Thompson who will be the starter for the foreseeable future with Adin Hill injured.
Alex Ovechkin may be having a down year, but he's still a good choice for your Saturday NHL lineups on DraftKings.
Latest Fantasy Rumors
Won't play in World Championship
Montembeault has decided against joining Team Canada for the IIHF World Championship in May, per Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.
ANALYSIS
Montembeault helped Canada win gold last year at the World Championship, posting a 1.42 GAA and a .939 save percentage. However, he's evidently opted to rest after finishing the 2023-24 campaign with a 16-15-9 record, 3.14 GAA and .903 save percentage across 41 appearances with Montreal.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2020
Montembault played 38 games for the league-worst Canadiens a season ago and his numbers -- 8-18-6 record, 3.77 GAA, .891 save percentage -- reflected that. Injuries to starter Carey Price and backup Jake Allen resulted in a much more significant role for Montembault than anyone initially expected. There's a real chance Price doesn't play at all this coming year due to a knee issue and Allen, the presumptive starter, hasn't been the picture of perfect health himself over the years, meaning we may again see more of Montembault than Montreal would prefer.
