No-shows loss to Su Mudaerji

August 31, 2019
Soukhamthath lost to Su Mudaerji via unanimous decision (26-30, 25-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Shenzhen, China.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. Soukhamthath is known as a Muay Thai "specialist" but he was dominated by Su in this one. "The Asian Sensation" wasn't the least bit sensational. He landed just 27 total strikes compared to a whopping 103 from Su. Andre also failed on all three of his takedown attempts. In short, this is the kind of performance that can get a fighter released. Soukhamthath has now lost three of his last four fights dating back to March 2018 and has just one victory since December 2017.
To fight at UFC Shenzhen

August 23, 2019
Soukhamthath announced via his personal Instagram in July that he would be taking on Su Mudaerji in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31.
ANALYSIS
The duo is a combined 2-5 under the UFC banner, with Soukhamthath coming off a loss to Montel Jackson, and Mudaerji losing his debut to Luis Smolka last November. Soutkhamthath will be taking on a China native in enemy territory, but his experience edge could make him the betting favorite on fight night.
Struggles continue in loss to Montel Jackson

April 13, 2019
Soukhamthath lost to Montel Jackson via (26-30, 27-30, 27-29) at UFC 236 on Saturday in Atlanta.
ANALYSIS
Soukhamthath (+450) was by far the biggest underdog on the card and it was easy to see why. Giving up a ton of size and natural ability to Jackson, Soukhamthath found himself in trouble right from the start. He landed just 41 total strikes compared to 160 by Jackson (unofficially). Soukhamthath has had a couple decent performances during his time with the UFC, but his overall record is terrible (2-4) and it seems highly unlikely that it will improve moving forward.
Looking for consecutive wins in Atlanta

Soukhamthath will take on Montel Jackson in a bantamweight matchup at UFC 236 on April 13 in Atlanta, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Soukhamthath most recently picked up a unanimous decision over Jonathan Martinez in October, but most remember him for a poor display of fight IQ in his UFC 222 loss to Sean O'Malley. He had O'Malley's foot just about broken, but instead elected to take the fight to the ground and let the clock run out, eventually dropping the decision. While Soukhamthath landed 79 significant strikes in his most recent bout against Martinez, striking was thought to be a big deficiency based on his performance on the feet in his first few fights. After scoring seven takedowns in his last two fights, however, Soukhamthath could turn back to his wrestling in an effort to exploit Jackson's takedown defense, which sits at an average 68 percent.
Gets out to huge lead and hangs on for decision win at UFC Moncton

October 27, 2018
Soukhamthath defeated Jonathan Martinez via unanimous decision (30-26, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Moncton, New Brunswick.
ANALYSIS
Soukhamthath got off to a great start in this fight. He came out throwing huge combinations. When the fight did go to the ground, he had all the answers. In the second round, he appeared to run out of gas and let Martinez back into the fight. However, in the third round, he went to his grappling to seal the fight. After losing his last fight against Sean O'Malley due to questionable fight IQ, it was impressive that he was able to pull out this decision.
