Long winless streak continues
FeatherweightUFC
September 21, 2019
Bravo lost to Steven Peterson via KO (spinning backfist) at 1:31 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
It's a crushing setback from Bravo in a fight in which he almost certainly won Round 1 and looked strong prior to the finish. Bravo closed as the betting favorite (-140) after the Vegas odds hovered around a pick 'em for quite a while. Bravo won his first UFC bout and has since lost three straight. It doesn't help matters that two of the three have been of the highlight reel knockout variety. Bravo hasn't won a fight in nearly three years and he fights in one of the deepest divisions in the sport. It wouldn't be shocking to see the company cut ties at this point.

Pinned against Steven Peterson
FeatherweightUFC
August 2, 2019
Bravo will square off against Steven Peterson in a featherweight bout at UFC on ESPN+ 17, Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be Bravo's first fight in over a calendar year. After starting his professional career with 11 straight victories, he has dropped two fights in a row, which has lowered his UFC record to just 1-2. Most recently, he fell to Alex Caceres via split decision at The Ultimate Fighter 27 Finale, and he hasn't emerged victorious since 2016.
Fails to sway the judges at the TUF 27 Finale
FeatherweightUFC
July 6, 2018
Barvo lost to Alex Caceres via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) at the TUF 27 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Bravo nearly pulled this fight out in the third round. He was behind on the cards, and he went hard for the finish. He realized that if he threw combinations of multiple strikes that he might miss some, but he could land a majority of them. He forced Caceres to move backwards and eat strikes. Unfortunately for him, the American had built enough of a lead with his slick striking, and the judges gave him the nod.
Draws Alex Caceres in Vegas
FeatherweightUFC
May 9, 2018
Bravo will face Alex Caceres in a featherweight matchup at the TUF 27 Finale card on July 6 in Las Vegas, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Bravo won his UFC debut against Claudio Puelles in 2016, but was upset by Humberto Bandenay in his second bout with the company -- a fight where he was a big betting favorite. He'll likely enter as the underdog this time around, as the 29-year-old Caceres has been with the UFC since 2011 and has the more impressive resume. That being said, Caceres has lost three out of his last four, which should give Bravo plenty of confidence heading into this matchup.
Quickly Defeated via KO in Round 1
FeatherweightUFC
August 5, 2017
Bravo was defeated by Humberto Bandenay via KO (knee) at 0:26 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 114 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
This was another very short fight. Bravo was a big favorite at -300, but he came out and ate a big left kick from Bandenay. He did not seem phased by that kick, but then got caught on the way in by a huge knee from the Peruvian featherweight. He was knocked out stiff, and took a few unnecessary follow-up punches from Bandenay.
Gains new opponent for UFC Mexico City
FeatherweightUFC
July 20, 2017
Bravo will face Humberto Bandenay in a featherweight fight at UFC Fight Night 114 on August 5 in Mexico City, Danny Segura of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bravo was set to fight Chris Gruetzemacher (undisclosed) in this matchup but will instead be taking on newcomer Humberto Bandenay. Bravo has an 11-0 record (1-0 UFC) but hasn't fought since he defeated Claudio Puelles (TKO-punches) at the TUF: Latin America 3 Finale in November. The 23-year-old fighter has nine stoppage wins and landed eight significant strikes per minute against Puelles, but has yet to be tested by UFC-caliber opponents.
