Huge KO of Junior Dos Santos
HeavyweightUFC
August 15, 2020
Rozenstruik defeated Junior Dos Santos via TKO (punches) at 3:47 of Round 2 at UFC 252 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It wasn't a perfect performance from Jair. In fact, he was probably losing prior to the stoppage. Yet, when all was said and done, he earned a key victory on the heels of his 20-second knockout loss to Francis Ngannou in May. Jair appeared to enter this fight in better shape. He is never going to be a high-volume striker, but his gas tank held up on Saturday. After having extremely limited space to work with throughout the course of the fight, Rozenstruik got JDS along the fence and connected with a quick jab and massive hook to turn Dos Santos' lights out. Jair isn't on the level of Ngannou, Stipe Miocic or Daniel Cormier, but he's a clear top-10 heavyweight at this point. That's quite an accomplishment for a guy who has been with the UFC for less than two years and is sporting a 5-1 record with the company.
Looking to bounce back at UFC 252
HeavyweightUFC
June 12, 2020
Rozenstruik will take on Junior dos Santos at UFC 252 on Aug. 15, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rozenstruik is coming off a disappointing showing in an opportunity to prove himself versus Francis Ngannou, lasting just 20 seconds into the bout to deliver Rozenstruik his first professional loss. Next up for him is a chance to bounce back versus a veteran in Dos Santos, who is also looking to get back on track following a pair of losses. The stand at 6-foot-4, while Rozenstruik holds a one-inch advantage in the reach department.
Lasts 20 seconds at UFC 249

Rozenstruik lost to Francis Ngannou via KO (punches) at 0:20 of Round 1 at UFC 249 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
On paper, this appeared to be a horrendous matchup for Jair and that proved to be exactly the case. Ngannou crushed him with one sweeping left hook and Rozenstruik crumbled. There isn't a ton to dissect here. This loss really doesn't tell us much about Jair moving forward because we kind of already knew he wasn't on Ngannou's level. The question is can Rozenstruik pick up the pieces and rebound with a strong effort his next time out? This is the first loss of his pro career.
Official for relocated UFC 249
HeavyweightUFC
April 21, 2020
Rozenstruik will take on Francis Ngannou in a heavyweight matchup at UFC 249 on May 9, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Rozenstruik and Ngannou have now had to endure two re-bookings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but according to Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com the UFC now has a location for its third attempt at this fight. It will be held in the state of Florida, with fighters expected to fly to Jacksonville and later be transported to a yet-to-be-specified location, with the Florida State Boxing Commission set to serve as the regulating body. The door is open for MMA to be considered an "essential business" in the state, so this event seemingly has a better chance of happening than several previous attempts. As far as the fight goes, Rozenstruik sits as a (+245) betting underdog for this matchup as of Tuesday evening.
