At the time of this writing Howard has not been confirmed in the No. 91 Chevrolet, but it is expected that he'll return to this team for a second season of Craftsman Truck Series action. The young driver nabbed three Top-10 and nine Top-15 finishes last season, and was particularly strong down the stretch. Howard registered two Top 10's and four Top 15's in those final five events of 2022. The rookie would finish a respectable 17th in the final driver standings of last year. Howard should return to a completely returning team that he's familiar with, including crew chief Mike Hillman. We expect to see some incremental improvement from this driver in team in their second season together.
Howard made 21 starts last season in the JD Motorsports No. 15 Chevrolet. He would earn just four Top-20 finishes. No plans have been announced for either Howard nor the No. 15 JDM team. It's likely that Hoard could be back in some capacity with them again in 2022.
The 19-year-old prospect got his first taste of Xfinity Series action in 2020. Howard piloted the JDM No. 15 Chevrolet in 22 of the 33 events last season. The results were a pleasant surprise with Howard claiming two Top-15 and seven Top-20 finishes across that limited schedule. He shared the car with Jesse Little, Jeffrey Earnhardt and other drivers last year. Howard will get the full plate of 33-starts in 2021 and look to improve this team's performance. JDM has decent resources and personnel at their shop, so Howard should have every opportunity to nudge this team forward in season two. The young driver will need to develop chemistry with new crew chief, Wayne Carroll, quickly in order to make this growth potential possible.
Signed with JD Motorsports in January 2020 to race a part-time schedule in the upcoming season in the Gander Truck Series. The 18-year-old driver has very limited experience and will likely only race in a handful of starts for JDM.
