Wednesday's six-game slate includes some overwhelming mismatches, with plenty of expensive players who we love to roster on a normal basis. Unfortunately, we can't have them all, making it feel more like a Champions League slate than a regular Premier League one.
FORWARD
Alexis Sanchez, ARS v. HUD (£24): Arsenal are one of three huge favorites on the slate (Chelsea and Manchester City are the others), and that's not to take away Liverpool's strong opportunity at Stoke City. All four teams have very usable forwards and midfielders, and we only have up to three spots for forwards. Alexis' anytime goal scorer odds aren't as high as teammate Alexandre Lacazette's (£19), but he's averaging nearly two more shots per 90 minutes and he's scored in back-to-back matches.
Mohamed Salah, LIV at STK (£27): Liverpool could rotate due to their congested schedule, but Salah really stands out if he's in the starting XI. He leads all players on the slate in goals, shots and shots on goal, and he's first in corners won and third in chances created among forwards. Meanwhile, only two teams have allowed more goals at home than Stoke (including Crystal Palace, who have played one more home match), and they've conceded nine in their last four at the bet365 Stadium.
Joshua King, BOU v. BUR (£15): Burnley have allowed by far the most shots in the Premier League this season, and while they've been very good at not giving up that many goals, the shots alone could give King a solid floor. That situation obviously puts Callum Wilson (£16) in play as well, and the only reason I prefer King is that he's likely to be on the ball more, giving him assist upside as well.
MIDFIELDER
Eden Hazard, CHE v. SWA (£23): Hazard has been on a roll of late, scoring three goals on eight shots (all on goal) and picking up two assists on six chances created in his last three matches. It's not just the goals and assists that have kept him active, as he's been drawing a good number of fouls to help out even when he's not getting on the scoresheet. As a result, Hazard has scored more than 10.00 fantasy points in seven of his last eight matches in all competitions, including more than 20.00 three times. Facing a Swansea side that's allowed the third-most shots, second-most shots on target and third-most accurate crosses should only help him extend his streak.
Aaron Ramsey, ARS v. HUD (£19): While Alexis and Mesut Ozil (£18) get most of the attention for those focusing on the Gunners, Ramsey has arguably been their best fantasy producer this season. He's scored at least six fantasy points in eight of his last nine matches in all competitions, as he gets there with a steady diet of shots, fouls won, passes, tackles and corners won. With Arsenal heavily favored, and Ozil likely to miss out again due to an illness, Ramsey could be given even more freedom in the attack.
Gylfi Sigurdsson, EVE v. WHU (£16): Sigurdsson's move to Everton this past summer hasn't panned out as many hoped, but he's starting to turn it around with a goal this past weekend at Southampton and an assist the week prior at Crystal Palace. He's actually been contributing a little more on the defensive end, with eight tackles won and nine interceptions in his last three games, and his three shots, including two on target, last weekend show that he's still very capable in the attack. The matchup at home against West Ham shouldn't be a worry, as they come in having allowed the second-most goals and third-most shots on goal among teams on the slate.
DEFENDER
Shkodran Mustafi, ARS v. HUD (£14): The Arsenal defense has been excellent with Mustafi on the pitch, as evidenced by their six clean sheets in his nine league starts, including one in each of his last six. Arsenal are likely to have plenty of possession, giving Mustafi a few pass points to help his floor, and he's fully capable of chipping in with other defensive stats when Huddersfield do finally get the ball. Arsenal don't have the best clean sheet odds, but Huddersfield come in with just three away goals this season, which all came in their opening match against Crystal Palace on Aug. 12. A full Arsenal defensive stack looks enticing.
Andreas Christensen, CHE v. SWA (£14): The Chelsea back line has been solid of late, despite allowing one goal at Liverpool this past weekend, and Christensen has been a major reason for the steady play. He has scored over six fantasy points in three consecutive Premier League starts, including two clean sheets, a situation that could certainly happen again Wednesday against a Swansea side that, like Huddersfield, has scored three away goals this season, including two at Crystal Palace on Aug. 26. If you're looking for a little cost savings, Antonio Rudiger (£13) could get the start as part of some Chelsea rotation.
Danilo, MCI v. SOU (£14): Potential rotation for Manchester City could open up some playing time for both Danilo and Eliaquim Mangala (£13), both of whom come at a slight discount to the other defensive starters. Danilo has some very solid games this season thanks to his passes, twice eclipsing 100 completed passes this season. Despite the tougher opponent than Arsenal's and Chelsea's, Man City should still dominate possession, giving Danilo plenty of opportunities to be on the ball as part of his clean sheet.
GOALKEEPER
Petr Cech, ARS v. HUD (£15): Cech, Ederson (£16) and Thibaut Courtois (£16) obviously have the highest clean sheet odds, and the only separator I see is that Huddersfield have forced more saves than Southampton and Swansea. Honestly, I'm not sure there's a real difference between the three, so I would simply pair one with whichever defenders you decide to play.
