Kings Host Timberwolves on Wednesday
The Sacramento Kings play host to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden 1 Center on Wednesday.

The Timberwolves (16-43) own the worst record in the NBA, but they've shown some flashes recently. They enter this matchup with a 6-10 record over their last 16 games, which is sadly one of their best stretches of the year. The guy that's gotten them to play better is Karl-Anthony Towns. The big man is averaging 27 points and 13 rebounds per game in that span, carrying this team on his back. Anthony Edwards has also flashed some moments of brilliance as well, and it makes the massive struggles hard to understand. Those guys were both top-picks in the draft, and this league-worst record has them in line to add yet another top-pick into the equation.

The Kings (23-35) suffered a nightmarish loss on Tuesday, being beaten by these T'Wolves by 14 points. What really made that frustrating is that Minnesota finished on a 20-5 run in a game with nearly 20 lead changes. That's a very disappointing performance, and it marks the Kings 10th loss in their last 11 games. Many of those have been close, too, and it's becoming clear that late-game execution is a serious issue for this young team. De'Aaron Fox really struggled in that Tuesday loss, but he's been averaging nearly 30 points and 10 assists a game over the last month. All of that has them on the outside looking in terms of the play-in tournament, and they better clean it up quick if they want to have a chance to get in!

These teams just played on Tuesday, with Minnesota prevailing, 134-120. That actually gives the Timberwolves five wins in their last seven meetings with the Kings.
