Pacers Enjoy Strong Start, Defeat Magic
The Indiana Pacers defeated the Orlando Magic, 111-106, at Amway Center on Friday evening.

The Pacers (24-27) have been a disappointing team this season but managed to start a two-game winning run with this victory over the Magic (17-35), a team that's now riding a four-game skid. Indiana quickly jumped out to a 33-30 lead in the first quarter, but they pulled away for good with a 31-21 score in the second quarter. Orlando tried to respond in the second quarter and made it a five-point game following a 27-19 score in the third quarter, but Orlando couldn't complete the comeback in the final 12 minutes. The Pacers held on in the final minutes and ran away with the win in what was a tightly-contested affair. Neither team impressed on the offensive end of the court, though. While the Pacers shot 41.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range, the Magic made 42.2 percent of their shots but only nailed 25 percent of their long-range attempts.

Domantas Sabonis might have scored just 16 points, but he was dominant on the glass with 15 rebounds -- he also added six assists and two blocks. Malcolm Brogdon notched 11 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Caris LeVert also had 11 points and Edmond Sumner notched 12 points. Doug McDermott had 19 points off the bench.

Terrence Ross led the Magic offensively with 24 points off the bench while also adding four rebounds. Mo Bamba ended with 14 points and six rebounds, while James Ennis III also chipped in with 14 points. No other Orlando player had 10 points since the offense struggled all game long.
