We just finished the Staff League Auction, in which two subscribers auctioned with several RW writers. Here are the results.
My impressions: In auction leagues, people always say "save your money." In "expert" leagues, everyone knows that, though, so sometimes the bargains are found early on. This auction was a clear example. Peterson was first overall at $55. Huge bargain. MDJ ($52) and Turner ($51) also went very early for great prices. I think it's ridiculous to have 3 top-10 backs in a 14-team league like I do (DWilliams $52, Forte $56, BJacobs $39). When that happens, the studs should have been bid up higher. Who cares if you spend 60|PERCENT| of your money early if you get three studs like that? Fitz ($47) and GJennings ($30) were the first two WRs nominated, were both good bargains compared to WRs who went later, and, interestingly, were both taken by a subscriber. I thought both subscribers (Janiga and Irish) held up just fine.
After several bargains early on, people realized that they couldn't take their money with them, so there were few bargains later. As for me, I'm set at RB, TE, and D and tried to make up for my lack of quality at QB and WR by taking several players with upside at each position.
