Yesterday started a busy stretch of six drafts in eight days for me, kicking off with the Sirius/XM Hosts' league. This one is an 11-team, mixed league that we did on-air on Sirius/XM Fantasy Sports Radio, immediately after my show.

Upcoming schedule:
- Saturday: BL|UNDER|DwMurphy Scoresheet draft - 24 teams, 35 rounds, up to eight keepers for each team. In other words, this one will take forever.
- Sunday: New home league - parents of my daughter's school friends found out what I do for a living and roped me into the league.
- Monday: NFBC Satellite draft - 15-team, 30 rounds, mixed league - same format as the Main Event.
- Tuesday: Yahoo! Friends & Family - time to defend my crown.
- Wednesday: Staff League auction, plus reserves/minors. Another long night. 18-team mixed, but at least it's a keeper league - up to 15 major leaguers per team kept, plus up to 10 minor leaguers kept. Eventually each team will roster 40 players (23 active, 7 reserve, 10 minors).
For this draft, prior to the draft I traded from the second slot to the seventh slot with Cliff Floyd. He wanted to get one of Albert Pujols or Miguel Cabrera, and I wanted to get a better second-round pick. In retrospect, I think I might have been better off staying put. But it would been awfully close in terms of whether I would have gotten my desired pick in the second and third rounds.
My team:
1.7 - Robinson Cano. In an 11-team mixed league, positional scarcity matters a little bit more. I opted for Cano over Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Upton. Upton |STAR|almost|STAR| made it to my next pick.
2.5 - Hanley Ramirez - Looking good this spring, and positional scarcity kicked in again. I suspect his ADP will rise in the next couple of weeks if he keeps looking healthy.
3.7 - Brett Lawrie - Yeah, yeah, I overreached, blah blah blah. But if I'm going to keep advising to take him at that spot, I have to put my money where my mouth is. And yes, I'm cajoling everyone in the league to throw $20 in the pot and make it winner-take-all.
4.5 - Cliff Lee - My third-rated starting pitcher, debated Jay Bruce or Carlos Santana here, as it's a two-catcher league.
5.7 - Alex Gordon - Thought about B.J. Upton and Zack Greinke here, both went off in short order after me.
6.5 - Paul Konerko - I was shy on power, and at first base - perfect match for my team's needs.
7.7 - Shin-Soo Choo - Was tops on my board for over two rounds.
8.5 - Buster Posey - Brian McCann went right before me in the sixth, Matt Wieters went right before me in this round. Health risk is obvious, but I think this was pretty good value.
9.7 - Derek Jeter - Tops on my board - Again, don't mind locking up the MI spot early in an 11-team mixed. So overrated that he's undervalued in industry circles.
10.5 Andre Ethier - Last Year's Bum. Health gamble, but power upside that isn't readily available this late.
11.7 Dan Hudson - This started a stretch of SP's for me.
12.5 Matt Garza - Consistently undervalued, in my opinion.
13.7 Gio Gonzalez - Landed in a good spot, all things considered.
14.5 J.P. Arencibia - Batting average risk, but power from the second catcher spot.
15.7 Cory Luebke - Least surprising pick of the draft, if you've been following me.
16.5 Ryan Madson - My closers are boom or bust, as you'll see with subsequent picks.
17.7 Vernon Wells - I think I'm going to own him in a lot of leagues.
18.5 Kenley Jansen - Won't begin the year as the closer, but with his K-rate, he won't hurt me even without saves.
19.7 Carlos Marmol - Slipped, but with Marshall gone, he's relatively secure.
20.5 Gaby Sanchez - Needed to add a corner, improved lineup around him.
21.7 Matt Joyce - I'd like to see him hit LH's better, but I like the price.
22.5 Brandon McCarthy - The innings-cap is 1,400 innings, so his lower K-rate doesn't bother me too much.
23.7 Alejandro de Aza - Worth a 23rd-round pick to see if last year was for real.
24.5 Lorenzo Cain - Our draft software suggested I was light on speed, so this pick was specifically to address this.
25.7 Nolan Reimold - Finally gets full-time work this year?
26.5 Addison Reed - Closer-in-waiting dart throw.
27.7 Tim Stauffer - I'll stream him for home starts and starts against the Dodgers, Giants, Astros and Pirates.
28.5 Bryan LaHair - My favorite endgame guy - could hit 20+ homers.
The draft software liked this team. What are your thoughts? I've got a few health-related gambles, and my closers are a little bit risky too, but in an 11-team league, I think I'll be able to find some over the course of the season.
