Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better (or at least try to)

Given my limited success wagering on MLB last week (6-1, +$499), compunded by the troubles of my fellow blogger Tom Vara (7-14, -$1,091), I thought I would buck the odds and offer up a few selections I like today.

Blue Jays -150 over Twins
Bet $150
I anticipate a low scoring affair with Romero and Diamond facing each other.  Consider the following… the Blue Jays are 16-5 in Romero's last 21 starts and 9-3 in his last 12 starts with 4 days of rest.  Meanwhile, the Twins are 1-4 in Diamond's last 5 starts, 5-13 in their last 18 games vs. a left-handed starter, and 13-38 in their last 51 home games.  Besides, the Twins just plain stink.  Ride the wave until they prove otherwise.

Giants - Diamondbacks Under 9
Bet $100
Zito has turned back the clock, and is pitching like it is 2002. The Giants Under is 5-1 in Zito's last 6 starts, 3-1-1 in his last 5 road starts vs. the Diamondbacks and 34-15-2 in their last 51 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Diamondbacks Under is 4-0 in their last 4 overall.  Playing a day game after a night game, let's hope the bats are tired and the trend continues.

Consider these my Mother's Day gift to all of you.  Good luck!
