Sixers Defeat Lakers, 108-91
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the visiting Los Angeles Lakers, 108-91, at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday.

A 35-25 first quarter in favor of the Sixers buoyed them to this victory, holding the lead for the final three quarters. In fact, Philly got it up to a 22-point lead in the third quarter and Los Angeles never got it within five points in the second half. Philadelphia actually finished the game on a 15-3 run over the final five minutes. The Sixers ended up shooting 53 percent from the field and 35 percent from three-point range while holding the Lakers to 46 percent from the field and 19 percent from long range.

The Lakers (36-10) were led by Anthony Davis and his 31 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. LeBron James collected 29 points, seven rebounds and eight assists but committed eight turnovers. No other player had more than seven points but Alex Caruso did provide four points, three rebounds and six steals off the bench.

The Sixers (30-17) got a near triple-double from Ben Simmons, who collected 28 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Tobias Harris amassed 29 points and eight rebounds. Al Horford generated 16 points and six rebounds. Matisse Thybulle had just six points and one rebound but led Philly with five steals.

Both teams are off until Tuesday, with Los Angeles returning home to face the Los Angeles Clippers and Philly remaining home to face the Golden State Warriors.
