Nets Hold On Through Overtime
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the host Detroit Pistons, 121-111, at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday evening.

The contest got out to a competitive start, with the Nets holding a one-point lead after one quarter. The Pistons picked it up in the second and outscored the visitors by 11 points in the quarter, to take a 10-point lead into halftime. The Nets turned it around in the third quarter and outscored the Pistons by 13, to take a three-point lead into the fourth. The Pistons started the fourth on an 8-0 run and held the lead until the Nets pulled ahead by one, with 2:25 to go in regulation. The Nets held a two-point lead when Derrick Rose stole the ball and nailed a last-second layup to send the contest to overtime, however, the Nets outscored the Pistons 15-5 in overtime to save the road win.

Kyrie Irving led the Nets with 45 points, seven assists and six rebounds, in 40 minutes. Jarrett Allen added 20 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks, while Joe Harris finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. The Nets shot 45 percent from the field, including 15-of-42 from long range.

Meanwhile, Derrick Rose led the Pistons with 27 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals, in 37 minutes. Andre Drummond tallied 20 points, 21 rebounds and two blocks, while Svi Mykhailiuk chipped in 19 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal. The Pistons shot 41 percent from the field, including 13-of-35 from deep.

The Pistons (17-30) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Cavs on Monday. The Nets (19-25) take on the Knicks in New York on Sunday.
