Celtics Tangle With Mavericks in Texas
The Boston Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.

As their record indicates, the Celtics (17-7) have enjoyed a fine season overall, but they'll come into Wednesday's contest with a rare two-game losing streak in tow. Boston's most recent stumble came against the division-rival 76ers, which toppled them by a 115-109 score last Thursday night. Kemba Walker paced the Celtics with 29 points, adding eight assists, one rebound and one block. Enes Kanter supplied 20 points and nine boards. Gordon Hayward delivered 19 points, five assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block. Daniel Theis and Jayson Tatum contributed 16 and 15 points, respectively.

The Celtics will likely list Tatum (illness) as questionable for Wednesday's game. while Marcus Smart (eye), Vincent Poirier (finger) and Robert Williams (hip) will remain out.

The Mavericks (18-8) are in the midst of an impressive season in their own right, but they recently suffered a huge personnel loss in the form of star guard Luka Doncic, who will miss approximately two weeks with an ankle sprain. Doncic's absence is what made Dallas' 120-116 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night all the more impressive. Kristaps Porzingis and Seth Curry co-led the Mavericks with 26 points, with Porzingis also pulling down 12 rebounds. Dorian Finney-Smith provided 15 points, and eight boards. Jalen Brunson and Delon Wright generated matching 13-point tallies, with Brunson also dishing out 11 assists as Doncic's replacement at point guard. Maxi Kleber supplied 10 points and seven boards.

Other than Doncic, the Mavericks do not have any other injuries to report.

Wednesday's game marks the second and final meeting of the season for Boston and Dallas. The Celtics hold a 1-0 series lead, having notched a 116-106 win Nov. 11.
