Rockets Shock Mavericks, 102-93
The Houston Rockets defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 102-93, at Toyota Center on Wednesday night.

The Rockets (14-37) came into the contest with a reputation for finding ways to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, but they'd played the Mavericks (28-22) tough in two previous games this season while splitting those contests. Houston set a positive tone early, playing stellar defense throughout the first half while allowing just 42 total points. The hosts also passed their post-intermission test with flying colors, not only maintaining their advantage but adding six points to their edge during the third period on the way to a nine-point victory.

Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis co-led the Mavericks with 23 points each while pulling down 12 and nine rebounds, respectively. Tim Hardaway provided 18 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block. Jalen Brunson tallied 14 points, three rebounds and three assists.

John Wall paced the Rockets with 31 points, supplementing them with seven assists, three rebounds, four steals and one block. Christian Wood generated a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double that also included one assist and one steal. Kevin Porter supplied 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and one block. Kelly Olynyk offered 10 points, 18 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.

The Mavericks head back home to host the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night, while the Rockets hit the road and tangle with the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.
